The Training Course on Marine Radiochemistry will be hosted by the State Key Laboratory of Marine Environmental Science, Xiamen University, China from June 8 to 10, 2016.

The purpose of this course is to train graduate students and professionals who are interested in or will pursue radiochemistry research and management.

InterRidge decided to host a special issue “Magmatic and Tectonics Process, Seabed Resource in the Mid-Ocean Ridge” on Marine Geophysical Research.

During the third InterRidge Theoretical Insitute, each poster presentation was given 5 minutes to present his/her work orally. The presentations are scored by the senior scientists according to their poster, oral presentation and scientific accievements. 3 students wins the "best student presentation award" in the third interridge theoretical Institute.  They are

France wins the bid to host the next InterRidge Office, 2016 - 2018 during the 2015 InterRidge StComm Meeting held on 28th September, 2015 in Hangzhou. Professors Jérôme Dyment (IPGP and CNRS, Paris, France) and Nadine LeBris (Universite Pierre et Marie Curie, France) will team up to lead of the new InterRidge office during 2016-2018. Congratulations to France.

The third InterRidge Theoretical Institute have successfully ended on 27^th September, 2015 after three days gathering. About 150 scientists from France, United Kingdom, Japan, Canada, USA, Germany, Portugal and China attended this events. 27 oral talks and 38 posters are presented during this event. Dr. Jian Lin from led the discussion on the summary of IRTI Recommendations. Progress have been made towards enhanced international deep-ocean exploration and networking of young scientists. 3 students have been selected by senior scientists to be awarded the “best student presentation awards.”

The InterRidge Vents Database (http://vents-data.interridge.org/) has been upgraded and revised with the addition of 94 new listings. Most of these new listings were discovered in the past five years.

Globally it is estimated that hydrographic maps are available for only 5% of the world’s oceans, even less of which have been mapped geologically or to identify benthic habitats.
