The first iMOVE workshop will be held in Bergen (Norway) on 6-8 February 2019. The objectives will be to (1) set up the basis for the 'iMOVE online platform' that will link to all observatories websites and data repositories, (2) discuss/produce a report on means for data integration, and the future of observatories - where are we after a decade? what observatories for tomorrow?, and (3) prepare the second larger workshop/conference that will be dedicated to scientific results.
The European Consortium for Ocean Research Drilling (ECORD) organizes the workshop PROCEED – exPanding fROntiers of sCiEntific cEan Drilling – aiming at initiating concepts and defining new goals for a future international scientific ocean drilling program to be developed beyond 2023 as a successor to the International Ocean Discovery Prog
The 2018 Scientific Committee on Oceanic Research (SCOR) Annual Meeting was held in Plymouth (UK) on 4-6 September 2018. InterRidge, being a SCOR-affiliated program, has been represented by its coordinator. The meeting was an opportunity to review all SCOR activities, approve new working groups, discuss on budget, elections and other activities for 2019, and vote on SCOR Constitution.
Due to several problems with international bank transfers, we would like to inform you that the deadline for registration and abstract submission to the SCOR-InterRidge Meeting on "Mid-Ocean Ridges and Other Geological Features of the Indian Ocean" has been extended until 25th August 2018. For those who experienced any problems with the fee transfer, we propose a new option of "on-site payment" by cash in Indian Rupees (7000 INR = 100 USD) at the reception counter when you arrive at NIO for conference.
The SCOR-InterRidge Meeting on "Mid-Ocean Ridges and Other Geological Features of the Indian Ocean" will take place on 14-16 November 2018 in Goa (India).
Registration & Practical Information:
Please see the meeting brochure for payment, accommodation, abstract submission and other details. A limited number of travel fellowship will be offered by SCOR and InterRidge based on the the situation and motivation of the applicant, followed by a first-come, first-served basis. Working Group Leaders are also invited at the meetings to report on their activity.
we would like to draw your attention to session GD2.8/EMRP4.2 - "Fluid circulation in magmatic hydrothermal systems", taking place on the upcoming EGU General Assembly, 17 – 22 April 2016 in Vienna. Session description: Hydrothermal fluids that circulate in the crust in active volcanic areas on land and in the oceans efficiently mine heat from Earth`s interior, and play an important role in the formation of associated mineral deposits. Hydrothermal fluids undergo significant changes (e.g.
