This workshop aims to raise the profile of research on geological carbon capture and storage, with particular focus on the potential for storage in ultramafic and mafic rocks. In contrast to the many large pilot studies of CO2 storage into pore space in sedimentary basins, the high carbonation potential of mafic and ultramafic rocks has received relatively little attention yet.
Optional fieldtrips 11-12 Jan 2010
Details at: http://ccs-oman2011.org/
Application deadline: 19 Nov 2010 (places limited to 60)
