Evénements
The Oceanographic Institute, Paris, together with many other institutions, aims to:
- Assess today’s knowledge of the deep seas by combining scientific and industrial expertise,
- Evaluate new technologies available on the short or medium term to explore or exploit the deep seas, in regard to sustainable management and protection,
- Consider proposals and actions leading to sustainable management along with adequate international governance,
- Inform and warn public opinion and mass media about the issues of the deep seas.
This conference and the call for papers will be structured around five overarching themes:
· Stressful environments - responses, adaptation and evolution
· Biodiversity, bioenergetics and interactions in extreme environments
· Contributions of life in extreme environments to biogeochemical cycles and responses to environmental change
· Life and habitability
· Technology Development
A limited number of grants will be available for early career scientists (PhD students and Postdocs).
DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION: 01 JULY 2011
Late registrations are now being accepted
