V030 - Magmatic Processes and Crustal Accretion at Mid-Ocean Ridges
Description
Magmatism at mid-ocean ridges is responsible for creation of most of Earth’s crust and represents the primary output from Earth’s interior to its exterior. We seek contributions focused on mid-ocean ridge magmatic activity at all levels from the mantle and crust to eruptions at the surface. Studies may be at local, regional or global scales. Subjects may include but are not limited to: mantle compositions and evolution; evolution and migration of MORB magmas; and crustal accretion and alteration. Observational studies of mineral, rock and gas chemistry, and crustal structure on- and off-axis at all scales are welcomed, as are experimental and modeling studies of any mid-ocean ridge process.
