The Dark Energy Biosphere Institute (DEBI) Research Coordination Network (RCN) on the deep biosphere funds graduate student exchanges to facilitate collaborations among deep biosphere research groups, with the end goal of building and educating the community.  Between 2-4 awards of $1-3K each will be granted annually for students to spend 1-6 months in a host lab to carry out research activities prohibitively difficult or impossible at their home institutions. Details at: http://www.darkenergybiosphere.org/RCN/opportunities/exchange.html

The InterRidge Steering Committee is very pleased to announce the recipients of the 2010 InterRidge Student and Postdoctoral Fellowship programme - Shinsuke Kawagucci, Baby Divya and Akumbom Vishiti. Three awards were made this year, one from InterRidge and two which were provided from the International Seabed Authority Endowment Fund, which aims to support the participation of qualified scientists and technical personnel from developing countries.

The InterRidge Steering Committee is very pleased to announce the awards for the 2009 InterRidge Student and Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. The awards go to Susan Lang, a postdoctoral researcher at Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO), USA, to work at a laboratory in Switzerland, and to Surya Prakash, a Ph.D. candidate at the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), India, to conduct research in the USA.
