GSNOCS offers postgraduate training at PhD level in a world leading, dynamic research environment.

Graduate School of the National Oceanography Centre Southampton (GSNOCS) offers postgraduate training at PhD level in a world leading, dynamic research environment.

Three ridge-related research projects have just been announced:

1.    Exploring the relationship between melt production, effective spreading rate and mid-ocean ridge tectonics.

2.   3D X-Ray imaging of flow structures in geological materials

3.   Using olivine-spinel geothermometres to determine magmatic temperature variations in MORB from different geotectonic settings.

These projects are supervised by Dr Bramley Murton (http://noc.ac.uk/people/bjm) and colleagues, and have at least 50% funding for UK students. Non-UK students can apply for additional scholarships.
