18-Jul-2009 Three-dimensional, high-resolution, multisensor mapping of three hydrothermal sites in the southern Mariana Trough; The chemical and microbiological mapping of hydrothermal plume was successful as well as the detailed bathymetry and seafloor images of the vent sites. The AUV was equipped with a Niskin-type water sampler and collected some of the world’s first water samples by AUV in the deep sea.
