Dear collegues,
We would like to invite you to attend and submit a contribution to the AGU Fall Meeting Special Session GP012: Marine magnetic anomalies 50 years after Vine and Matthews (http://fallmeeting.agu.org/2013/scientific-program/session-search/sessio...)
Recent developments in the analysis of magnetic anomalies from high-resolution sea-surface and near-seafloor surveys can provide important insight into fundamental questions concerning the structure and evolution of oceanic crust, sea-floor spreading, geomagnetic polarity reversals, and hydrothermal systems. The session is open to researchers in the broad topic of marine magnetics. We invite original contributions at all scales, observation depths, and from different platforms (shipborne, AUV, ROV, submersibles), showing methodological advancements in the acquisition, processing and inversion of marine magnetic anomalies in various settings, from mid-ocean ridges and hotspots to back-arc basins and subduction zones.
Please note that the abstract deadline is August 6th, 2013. For additional information, please contact any one of the conveners:
