27 Jul 2009 To undertake fundamental petrological and geochemical research into how magma is generated at the active transition between continental and oceanic crust. The focus of the expedition was the submarine Hunter Ridge, located between Fiji and Vanuatu, which contains unusual magmatic assemblages containing rocks that are not normally associated in time and space.
